Evil Invaders Interview (2013)

BFM:Hi Joe! how's the last tours?

JoeAnus: hey man, so lately we've been playing a lot of shows in belgium and we're just back from a european tour with screamer and striker that consisted of 19 shows in 20 days! It was a total blast! Today we will play at the masters of Kassel festival in germany with Sodom!  I can’t wait to hit the stage again!

BFM:I think some of our readers might don't know Evil Invaders very well, So please introduce a little profile of your band!
JoeAnus: evil invaders is a 4-piece heavy/speed/thrash metal act strongly influenced by the great bands of the 80's.

BFM:How is the Metal scene in belgium now?
JoeAnus: i think the scene in belgium is pretty good for the moment. everybody supports eachother: bands, organisations, etc. just friendly competition and that's a good thing!

BFM:In "Alcoholic Maniac". I heard the verse "ZATOS poepeloeres!" sangs out in the few last second, what does it mean?
JoeAnus: haha the lyrics of this song were written while being drunk with some friends. in the region where i'm from we have this saying when somebody is really drunk. 'poepeloere zat' which means drunk as fuck.
it was just a reference to the local drunk friend of ours. he was always saying funny stuff that didn't make any sense and he was trying to translate the flemish slang 'poepeloere zat' to spanish so he just added '-os' to both words. which would make zatos poepeloeros
this song is about him so we added it as a joke on the end of the song.

BFM:I heard you are in the session of recording for the Debut, how does the progress?
JoeAnus: we were just doing some try-outs in a small studio for some songs. as a sort of preproduction. right now we're working our asses off to write really cool new songs and we hope to releast the first full length album in oktober 2014 on napalm records.

BFM:Did the members have a full-time job?
JoeAnus: only senne (drums) actually haha! i'm still studying, sam ( guitar) had to quit his job and nico (bass) is doesn't have a job either. we're totally dedicated to the band!

BFM:Do you have a support from the family while playing in both indoor live and abroad?
JoeAnus: yeah our families sometimes come to the show and they're really supportive because they see that we're really living for this music and that we're working hard to get the band to a higher level.

BFM:Don't call i'm too much curious, but I saw the small Logo on your guitar, but I forgot the brand of it. Can you tell me which brand of your V-Axe?
JoeAnus: haha i made the guitar myself. it's my own design and logo. i'm studying lutherie and that was the first electric guitar i've made.

BFM:Can you introduce the cool Belgian Thrash & Heavy Metal bands to our Readers?
JoeAnus: you have some cool bands here yeah! the ones that are really worth checking out are: horacle (heavy metal), prematory (thrash metal), and voltrage (hard rock). you also have some really young bands in which i see some potential: witchtrail (black thrash) and hammerhead (thrash) for example.

BFM:How did you work out before Jamming & Touring?
JoeAnus: you mean how we met each other? i started this band with a completely different line-up. i've known sam for years before he was in the band. i used to hang out with him and party. senne just came to the auditions when we were looking for a new drummer and he immediately fit in perfectly. nico just joined the band but i knew him for quite a while too because he used to be the bass player in voltrage And we played some shows together.

BFM:Name the 5 Albums that influenced you
JoeAnus: crimson glory: transcendance, mercyful fate: melissa, motorhead: bomber, exciter: heavy metal maniac, exodus: bonded by blood

BFM:Any fine beer in Belgium?
JoeAnus: grimbergen, karmeliet, ...too many to mention!! hahaha the belgian special beers are definately worth checking out!

BFM:No more question,The rest is up to you to spread the Shout!
JoeAnus:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Lost Society Interview (2013)

BFM:Hi guys! This's Beer Friendly Music from Thailand! how's the last tour in Europe?
Sami: Hey man! We've been doing lots of gigs around Finland during the summer and we travelled to Germany and Italy for a couple of shows, but other than that, we've been pretty much only in Finland! It's been a great summer for us in terms of gigging, and we're looking forward to continuing our Fast Loud Tour this year!

BFM:Can you tell us about the band's history and how the each members were met?
Sami: The band was founded by me in the beginning of 2010, and it was with a totally different line-up. In the summer of 2011 we got the rest of the dudes onboard, which means: Arttu Lesonen on guitar, Mirko Lehtinen on bass and Ossi Paananen on drums! I met the other guys actually through another band i was in at the time as a singer! Somehow all the guys just came together, and it's been going really well ever since!

BFM:I heard that you guys have shared the stage in Global Battle Of the Bands (GBOB) 2012 and prevailed it. As the champ of that competition, how did you feel about it?
Sami: We won the finals in the Finnish GBOB, and that definitely felt good. Basically ever since that competition finished, we've done a lot of gigging and we did the album and everything. It's really been a crazy time after that, and we're all really excited to what the future brings for us. The competition was a good boost for our career, and we had an awesome time with the other bands!

BFM:Any stress, pressure or funny things while recording Fast Loud Death?
Sami: It was actually really cool to notice that the two weeks we were in studio went really quickly and smoothly! We didn't really run into any problems and all went the way we planned it! We had a great time, and we are really happy with what we got! The funny stuff mostly happened in the evenings after the sessions, but I couldn't tell you much about that haha..

BFM:And how's the mostly Feedback from media?
Sami:  Ever since the album came out, we've been getting really good feedback from people and definitely the media. Reviews have been really good and people have sent a lot of mail to us telling us that they really like it! It's an awesome feeling to know that we've really done something the people like, but also because we're so proud of the album ourselves!

BFM:How's the feel like to have a contract with a titan label like Nuclear Blast?
Sami: Crazy! Even before signing to Nuclear Blast, we knew that the label was huge and when it happened, we all just were in awe knowing that we were signed to the label where our idols were at! It's been great with NB, they really promote LS well and we get along really well! Hopefully we'll work with them for a long time, well into the future!

BFM:Has it difficult to prepare for the tour, both in hometown and in Europe?
Sami: Not really, we always practise at least 4-5 times a week and we all enjoy that a lot, so preparing for gigs is just practise and more practise and then we go out there and kill the places!

BFM:17, 18, 19 and 19 is your guys' ages that written on the band FB page, but i wanted to know  that how old are you guys in now (2013)
Sami: I'm 18, Arttu is 20, Mirko is 19 and Ossi is 1

BFM:Have you guys got a work or still studying?
Sami: Me and Ossi are still studying but we should be getting out (hopefully) as soon as possible.. Mirko at the moment is doing his civil service and Arttu is taking it easy haha!

BFM:Opinion for the bands such as Children of Bodom, Apocalyptica, Nightwish, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Amorphis, Ensiferum, Korpiklaani and including HIM
Sami: Well, of course it's great that those Finnish bands have got out there, but we don't really care for much of those. Bodom is fucking awesome, especially the old stuff and Korpiklaani is awesome haha!

BFM:I heard that you are played in Beastival, How's the feeling to play on the same stage with Teutonic 4?
Sami: It was a really awesome time. Our show went really well and the crowd was really into it! And after that, we got to see the mighty teutonic 4 which was awesome!

BFM:Any oldschool thrasher from Finland to show us?
Sami: Check out Nuclear Omnicide and Forced Kill! Awesome bands from Finland!

BFM:When did you guys found Thrash Metal?
Sami: For us, thrash has been always 'there' with us, but it really took us with it some years ago, really hard to pinpoint the year but anyway, it's stuck with us since then.

BFM:Who is the each members' Idols?
Sami: My idols in guitar playing would be Dimebag Darrell, Maiden's three guitarists (Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Janick Gers) and lots more.. For singing I'd say Phil Anselmo and Steve "Zetro" Souza. For the other guys there are lots of idols including Eric Singer, Vinnie Paul, David Ellefson, Frank Bello, Rex Brown, Ace Frehley and lots more!

BFM:At first, have you got the parent support to play music?
Sami: Our folks have really supported us A LOT! They've helped us in many things and always pushed us forwards so we really owe them big time for that.

BFM:How many people approximately attended the show in Jyvaskyla?, and did the people come many since the early bands or just at the later bands?
Sami: In the beginning, mostly just our friends came out to see the shows, but basically as we got more and more shows, a lot more people came along too, which was awesome to see. Nowadays there are lots of people coming to see the shows, and we're really happy about that! Talking about people by the hundreds anyway.

BFM:Any hobbies beside the music?
Sami: As we spend almost all of our time at the rehearsal place, we don't really have time for anything, plus we all really just want to play music all the time! If I gotta name some hobby, it's going out with the dudes and having a great time, it really beer friendly!

BFM:"Silly Question" Have you been planed to have more guitarist and let Sami grab just a Mic
Sami: Definitely not! I love playing guitar, and I love singing, and doing them both on stage for me is just awesome! I'd never switch to only one instrument, i was born with both!

BFM:We have pure thrash metal in almost every countries in the S.E.A., Do finland have a gig like that?
Sami: It's great to see that thrash definitely is alive all over the world! In Finland, thrash isn't such a big thing, but if you look into it, there really are a lot of thrash bands around the place.

BFM:Any plans to tour in S.E.A. countries like Thailand?
Sami: At the moment we don't have any plans, but we really hope that later on we could come even out there and thrash the whole place up with you guys!

BFM:Any fine beer in Finland?
Sami: Finland has a lot of different cheap and expensive beer, the cheap ones of course are much more appealing to us, and they taste like they should! You should come out here and have some KOFF or Olvi with us!

BFM:Off your Shouts and Promotings
Sami: We'd like to thank all the Lost Society supporters out there! Keep supporting thrash and come see us live and bang your fucking heads with us! Cheers!

Demonification Interview (2012)

BFM:Sawasdee Krup! How're you Fai? Let's greet our readers.
Fai: Sawasdee Krup Warbrother Zoham. At the moment I'm still alive and it's great to be alive. Reading more zines, listening to Metal music and creating more evil hellhymns for the readers here and for the masses.

BFM:I believe that a lot of readers still do not know your band. Can you introduce yourself, your band, tlk about your releases, your band's members?
Fai: Demonification was created by me (vocals and guitars) and J.Rage Maniax (drums) back in 1997. At that time we already choose Thrash Metal as our music because we were bombarded with evil bands such as Destruction, Sodom, Kreator, Sadus, Megadeth, Tankard and many many more. There were of course some line up changes in Demonification, the most notable ones is we have had Dagoth (ex Abhorer / ex Impiety) on drums and Demonomancer (ex Impiety) on bass at one point of evil time. Back in 1999 we released a demotape entitled, "A Thousand Sadness". In 2000, we released an EP entitled, "For The People". In 2001, we released an EP tape, "Rehearsal Tape". In 2002, Ravage Records (Singapore) released a MCD entitled, "The Holocaust Continues". In 2004 we released an album entitled, "Hell Metal". After the end of our 1st album, I decided to end Demonification due to financial and musical directions problems within the band. Soon after, I joined Ironfist as a lead guitarist and went on tour and recorded a 7", "Worshippers of The Black Witch", a MCD "Sexcalibur" and  their 1st album entitled, "Weapons Of Mass Sextruction". After years of playing in Ironfist, the passion to play Thrash Metal music is boiling in my heart and my soul, but I couldn't do that in Ironfist because Ironfist is more Black / Heavy Metal music so I decided to quit Ironfist and reform back my band which is Demonification. Upon reformed, I call upon J.Rage Maniax, the original drummer, and Thoth Warsaw as the bass player.

BFM: What is the reason of quitting Ironfist? Do you still keep in contact with Rape?
Fai: The reason I quit Ironfist is not because of friendship or brotherhood problems. It is because of music. I wanted to play Thrash Metal but he wants to keep it Black / Heavy Metal which is good for Ironfist but it's not good for me. Overtime and again, I'll get bored playing the riffs in Ironfist. It's too simple and I need more aggression. Currently I'm not in contact with Rape, I tried to call him or message him, he did not reply. I don't know why and I don't give a fuck anymore.

BFM:Shyaithan of Impiety once said that the scene in Singapore is fucked up, is it true?
Fai: Let me say that the Goatfather, is one of the most respected individual in every Metal scene because he worked hard and he die hard for Impiety. I've been a fan of Impiety for 10 years now and I'll not stop listening to their music. Every scene in this world no matter what country we step on have its bad days and good days. I cannot say that Singapore Metal scene is fucked up or too fucking great. But all I can say is this, Singapore Metal scene is growing fast. I've seen new kids, maybe a few posers or scumbags around but to me it's alright as long as they don't do shit to my band.

BFM:I know that you know Redza of Hereafter (thrasher from Malaysia) and you also go there once in a while, what is the difference between living in Singapore and Malaysia? which place is better?
Fai: Redza of Hereafter is not only my best friend but he is also my eternal warbrother. I've visited him a lot of times within a year because Redza is a reliable guy and someone you can trust your money with. He have helped Demonification so much and his band, Hereafter is one killer band which have become one of my inspiration to write killer riffs. There is a big difference living in Singapore and living in Malaysia. Singapore as you know it has very tight laws. You cannot bribe the police and we have to serve our country. Malaysia is a hell of a good country because the cigarettes are cheaper, the country is big and there are so many histories in Malaysia. But of course the better place will be Singapore because my family is here, my girlfriend is here and my band is here. If I don't have these three then I'll pick Malaysia as the better place anytime.

BFM:The song titled 'Airmata Hawa' in your new release is more into stoner, and the language i believe is not english, what is the reason behind it?
Fai: Airmata Hawa is in Malay language. And yes it is very much influenced by Judas Priest, "Dreamer" in the album, "Sad Wings Of Destiny". The reason I wrote it in Malay is I want the Muslim Community in Malaysia that banned Metal there to realize we, Demonification showed them musically that even the first man on earth have sins and unperfect. When I first heard the news about Malaysia banned Metal back then, it really makes me angry and I really feel for my Malaysian friends. I knew I had to make a stoner song about this situation but I needed to open up a similar subject. And what better way is to associate Adam (the first man on earth) to this situations yet to fit the song in Espionage Of His Messengers.

BFM:What is the reason that make you want to play music and choose to play metal? Did your family have influences in this?
Fai: When I was in my teenage life, my father who is a Jazz musician told me to fuse my anger in music, thus he taught me the guitar. I was an angry kid back then. Metal music is aggresive, fast and evil. My first vinyls back then was Judas Priest - Sad Wings Of Destiny and Black Sabbath - Sabotage. These 2 records makes me crazy till I want to play like them. My family is supportive of my musical directions and my music lifestyle. As long as we Metal musicians respected our families, they will let us what we want to play.

BFM:Does Demonification hav any plan to touring to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Phillipines?
Fai: Right now, we have received offers in Asia. I will not reveal much here because the organizers and I have not comfirm the dates yet. But of course, Demonification will want to play in any countries we can no matter Asia, Europe, USA. Demonification is a global band. That is my vision for this band.

BFM:Which are the new bands from Singapore that you would like to introduce to our readers?
Fai: Singapore have killer bands and those killer bands are (old and new) - Infernal Execrator, Dyeth, Harvester, Cardiac Necropsy, Bloodstone, Xanadoo and a lots more. You'll have to really dig in deeper in our soil to find more underground bands here.

BFM:Does the band has any decision of reissue the first album titled "Hell Metal"?
Fai: I was the one who decided to reissue back Hell Metal because I wanted the Metal Maniax in the world to know that back in 2004, this is the aggression we played and the aggression is still the same as before. Anyway Hell Metal is still in demand in European countries such as Germany. Back then I couldn't send all for distributions there. But now I can because of this reissue. The good thing about this reissue is that I've included the songs from The Holocaust Continues as well so it is one hell package.

BFM:How do you defy Demonification's music?
Fai: Demonification music will always be Thrash Metal. The aggresion and the evil along with it.

BFM:Can you give us your top 5 albums that you have been listening since you were young?
Judas Priest - Sad Wings Of Destiny
Black Sabbath - Sabotage
Destruction - Sentence Of Death
Sodom - Agent Orange
Kreator - Pleasure To Kill

BFM:After this, I give you as much as space as possible for you to promote yourband, scold anyone, or anything. Thank you Fai for your precious time.
Fai: Infernal hails and salute to you warbrother Zoham for this interview. For the readers, please go to

Essence Interview (2011)

BFM: What's up guy! How's everything?
Lasse:Lasse Skov of Essence here! Everything is going really great! Playing metal has never been better.

BFM: Tell us about Essence, What's the main goal of the band? Beside the first EP and debut album, have you done any Work in different circumstance?
Lasse:Essence is a thrash metal band from Denmark – a small country with aprox. 6 million people. Our goal is to play music for our selves and then to the people who wants to listen. If nobody wanted to listen to our band, we would still be playing. We play music for the hell of it and that will never change.
We have only released our EP, Art in Imperfection, and our debut album, Lost in Violence. Besides these two albums we have not officially released anything. There exists a few pre-productions of old Essence songs, but there traded from hand to hand, and you can’t find them in stores.

BFM: We wonder what's a true meaning of Blood Culture Music Video?
Lasse:The ‘moral’ in the song and video, ‘Blood Culture’, is that if you are lucky enough to have a 2nd chance in life, then you should not waste it doing stupid things. The male person in the video had been taking drugs and he nearly died from it. He got a 2nd chance but wasted it by being violent towards other human beings. Though, that’s what we think the video is about, but it’s really up to the person that sees it, what the meaning is. It might mean something different to you than to us.

BFM: We heard that Lasse have visited Thailand before, how was the experience? What impress you and will make you go come back?
Lasse:Yes, I had the honour of visiting Thailand with my girl friend back in July. I spent 5 weeks travelling around in your amazing country, which is A LOT better than Denmark in ALL aspects. I spend some time in Pattaya (Jomtien), Bangkok, Chiang mai, Phuket and Koh Phi Phi. You Thai are a really kind and funny people and I always felt welcome in your presence. I actually got a ticket to a metal show in Bangkok, when I was shopping in Pattays “Central Festival”. I recall there was a band playing which was named something with ‘Brain Craving’ – can’t recall their exact name. I wish I would have been able to get to the show – that would have been awesome.
I love nature so I spent most of my time walking in the forests, diving in beautiful seas and seeing cultural stuff, like temples and so on. We don’t have any of that in Denmark, so it was really great to see. My girl friend is half Thai, so we also spent time with her family in Bangkok, so I guess Thailand is our second home. What impresses me is how laid back and relaxed the Thai usually is and your nature. I like the way you see your King and how he unites the Thai people. We could sure use that here in Denmark. The nature will for sure get me to come back next year, if I’m not touring and playing shows. Your country is just pure awesome!

BFM: How is Metal scene in Denmark? any great band you shared stage with?
Lasse:The metal scene in Denmark is very big and vast. There are many different types of metal bands from death metal to black metal to hard rock. There are many young musicians here also, who dream of playing in a band and getting good at playing on their instruments. I’ve been lucky to already have shared the stage with A LOT of bands, and many of them really great bands. There are too many to list here, but In Flames, Artillery, Krisiun and Arch Enemy are some of my personal favourites.

BFM: How did you get into Metal? any of you have a family background?
Lasse:I don’t really know actually. I’ve never had anything to do with metal at all, before I started playing guitar when I was 15 years old. I had no family or friends who were in to metal at the time. When I had been playing guitar for 2-3 years, the stuff I was playing got too easy and I needed something way more difficult. That’s when I heard Metallica and then it just kept going from that point and on.

BFM: Why Thrash Metal?
Lasse:I think thrash metal is the genre that fits my personality best. I like the raw energy and the attitude, you know, to be yourself and play music without trying to be something your not. I think its fun to watch bands that are all dressed up in costumes and painted with blood to look dangerous, but when you meet them backstage they are just normal and nice guys. I’m not talking about bands like Immortal (which is my favourite metal band), but bands who really tries to convince their audience that they’re evil. Thrash metal is the most honest genre there is and I think it’s the purest and eldest form of metal.

BFM: 5 Favorite album of all time?
Immortal – Sons of Northern Darkness
Metallica - ... And Justice for All
Hypocrisy – Abducted
Forbidden – Twisted into Form
Dissection – Storm of the Lights Bane

BFM: Where did you guys feel the best crowd? where's worst? Any plan to do a tour in South Asia? I'm pretty sure there are fans waiting for you guys in Thailand. including myself.
Lasse:Ironically I personally feel more at home when I’m playing in Portugal, then when I’m playing in Denmark or here in Scandinavia. It’s not that there’s a ‘worst’ crowd, it is just VERY different how people react to your music. I like playing festivals more than anything though. When we’re playing at festivals it does not matter where in the world it is, because the vibe and energy is just incredible! We’d like to come to South Asia and play, though we need someone to invite us over there to perform. I’m sure we will play you a visit at some point! Otherwise I’ll just bring my guitar like I did this summer, when I was in Thailand, and play some metal on my own!

BFM: according to our rules, we need to ask this question. Best Beer in Denmark?
Lasse:I’d say it’s a brand called ‘Tuborg’, but I’m only into dringing Guinness – the best bear in our part of the world!

BFM: Last Question, give us some shout out, promote new album, quote anything, whatever you want to say
Lasse:We’re recording our second album in Abyss Studio in Sweden with Peter Tägtgren, who have produced the best selling albums of Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, Children of Bodom and many more, in February and March 2012 – make sure to support thrash metal and pick it up when it comes out next year! Or check it out on YouTube at least. Thank you very much for having me in for an interview and I can’t wait to show you the new songs next year! Until then: mei pen lai!

Fueled By Fire Interview (2011)

BFM:"What's up guys? would you like to greet a reader? " Rick: what's up everyone! this is Rick Rangel (lead vocals/guitars) are YOU ready for this interview?!! BFM:"How do you guys enjoy True Thrash Fest?, please share an experience with us" Rick: True Thrash Fest was an AMAZING experience! we enjoyed every moment of being out there. we made many friends and drank many beers! it was an honor to share the stage with such amazing bands! and the metal fans in japan really know how to thrash!! we really hope this fest continues for many years to come! much thanks to our friend Mikitoshi at Rock Stakk Records!

BFM:"Can you tell us about a delay on a release of Plunging Into Darkness?" Rick: well, there are many reasons for the delay. we wanted this album to be perfect and we wanted to make sure we put out the best possible album we could make. after it was recorded different things made the album delay longer and longer, such as art work and booklet design. this album was completely D.I.Y. no labels were involved and once it was ready we looked at our options for distribution. we wanted this album out as soon as it was recorded, but we wanted to make sure everything was in line. sorry it took so long guy's, we'll try our best to get our next album out as soon as we can!

BFM:"At the time when you form a band (circa 2002), they were so many genre that gain more
popularity than Thrash metal, what inspired you to form a Thrash band?"
Rick: when Fueled By Fire was formed, we were heavily influenced by classic heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio! and as we progressed as a band writting origionals, we started to like the speed and aggression of bands like Slayer and Exodus! and our music just got faster and more aggressive as time went by. so we kinda just grew into a Thrash metal bad.

BFM:"How much impact did Thrash metal had on you?"
Rick: thrash made a huge impact on us, just watching videos of old shows from the 80's got us pumped up! there is no feeling in the world like being at a thrash concert. circle pits, stage diving, and head banging, it doesn't get any better than that!

BFM:"Are they any possibilities to stop by in Bangkok, Thailand?"
Rick: of course! we would love to play out there! we have had many fans reach out to us from Thailand, we hope to play out there soon!! spread the word to everyone, BRING FUELED BY FIRE TO THAILAND!!!

BFM:"Which 3 bands do you had a best experience playing with? (not necessarily to be Thrash
band)"
Rick: there have been many bands we have had a pleasure of sharing the stage with, definitely hard to pick a top 3! but i will name a few that definitely come to mind. Exodus, Possessed, Evil Dead, Agent Steel, Razor, Sabbat, Violator.

BFM:"5 favorites Thrash albums?"
Rick: Exodus: bonded by blood
Slayer: hell awaits
Violence: eternal nightmare
sepultura: beneath the remains
Dark Angel: darkness descends

BFM:"favorite American beer?"
Rick: now this is by far my favorite question to answer! haha! well there are many good american beers but the absolute best are very hard to find because they are from independent companies. my favorite is a beer named Arrogant Bastard. it lives up to it's name!! haha

BFM:"OK, last question. Say anything to reader and Fan in Southeast Asia. Thanks for your
time, Keep Thrashing! \m/ "..

Rick: I would like to say thank you for reading this interview, your support means alot to us! i hope i get to drink a beer with each and everyone of you!!! Remember to keep supporting your local metal scene! if you would like to reach us you can contact us on our official facebook page. make sure you play our music loud! and again, thank you!!
