Fueled By Fire Interview (2011)

BFM:"What's up guys? would you like to greet a reader? " Rick: what's up everyone! this is Rick Rangel (lead vocals/guitars) are YOU ready for this interview?!! BFM:"How do you guys enjoy True Thrash Fest?, please share an experience with us" Rick: True Thrash Fest was an AMAZING experience! we enjoyed every moment of being out there. we made many friends and drank many beers! it was an honor to share the stage with such amazing bands! and the metal fans in japan really know how to thrash!! we really hope this fest continues for many years to come! much thanks to our friend Mikitoshi at Rock Stakk Records!

BFM:"Can you tell us about a delay on a release of Plunging Into Darkness?" Rick: well, there are many reasons for the delay. we wanted this album to be perfect and we wanted to make sure we put out the best possible album we could make. after it was recorded different things made the album delay longer and longer, such as art work and booklet design. this album was completely D.I.Y. no labels were involved and once it was ready we looked at our options for distribution. we wanted this album out as soon as it was recorded, but we wanted to make sure everything was in line. sorry it took so long guy's, we'll try our best to get our next album out as soon as we can!

BFM:"At the time when you form a band (circa 2002), they were so many genre that gain more
popularity than Thrash metal, what inspired you to form a Thrash band?"
Rick: when Fueled By Fire was formed, we were heavily influenced by classic heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio! and as we progressed as a band writting origionals, we started to like the speed and aggression of bands like Slayer and Exodus! and our music just got faster and more aggressive as time went by. so we kinda just grew into a Thrash metal bad.

BFM:"How much impact did Thrash metal had on you?"
Rick: thrash made a huge impact on us, just watching videos of old shows from the 80's got us pumped up! there is no feeling in the world like being at a thrash concert. circle pits, stage diving, and head banging, it doesn't get any better than that!

BFM:"Are they any possibilities to stop by in Bangkok, Thailand?"
Rick: of course! we would love to play out there! we have had many fans reach out to us from Thailand, we hope to play out there soon!! spread the word to everyone, BRING FUELED BY FIRE TO THAILAND!!!

BFM:"Which 3 bands do you had a best experience playing with? (not necessarily to be Thrash
band)"
Rick: there have been many bands we have had a pleasure of sharing the stage with, definitely hard to pick a top 3! but i will name a few that definitely come to mind. Exodus, Possessed, Evil Dead, Agent Steel, Razor, Sabbat, Violator.

BFM:"5 favorites Thrash albums?"
Rick: Exodus: bonded by blood
Slayer: hell awaits
Violence: eternal nightmare
sepultura: beneath the remains
Dark Angel: darkness descends

BFM:"favorite American beer?"
Rick: now this is by far my favorite question to answer! haha! well there are many good american beers but the absolute best are very hard to find because they are from independent companies. my favorite is a beer named Arrogant Bastard. it lives up to it's name!! haha

BFM:"OK, last question. Say anything to reader and Fan in Southeast Asia. Thanks for your
time, Keep Thrashing! \m/ "..

Rick: I would like to say thank you for reading this interview, your support means alot to us! i hope i get to drink a beer with each and everyone of you!!! Remember to keep supporting your local metal scene! if you would like to reach us you can contact us on our official facebook page. make sure you play our music loud! and again, thank you!!
